Skin flap surgery

Skip flap surgery is essential when a large area of diseased skin or blemish needed to be surgically removed, as in the case of a facial 3cm birth mark.

We make use of the elasticity of the skin, after careful planning, to stretch the neighbouring skin to cover the original defect. The commonly used methods are advancement flaps, transposition flaps, rotational flaps and rhomboid flaps. This surgery can give cosmetically acceptable result despite removal of a large skin area.
