Anti-aging (Facial Volume Enhancement)
Some people are naturally blessed, looking like they are 28 when they are in their 40s, while others are less fortunate, appearing to be in their 30s when they are only in their 20s. As we age, our faces undergo two major changes. First, we gradually lose facial volume. Second, our skin begins to sag. In this section, we’ll discuss volume loss.
A youthful face is like a fully inflated balloon. As the years pass, this balloon starts to deflate. Many of the collagen structures and fat layers in our face gradually thin out or disappear. The most noticeable areas are the tear troughs under the eyes (eye bags), the nasolabial folds, the marionette lines (puppet lines) at the corners of the mouth, the brow bone, the temples, and the cheeks. The lips and neck also thin out, but the impact is less significant for people of East Asian descent.
The treatment for this involves the use of hyaluronic acid, Sculptra, or autologous fat to replenish lost volume, reinflating the ‘balloon’ of the face, and restoring a youthful appearance.
